New Aston Martin Cygnet Concept Car Officially Revealed

The first ever Aston Martin‘s mini car has officially revealed. Basing on the Toyota iQ the Aston Martin Cygnet Concept is a mix of luxury, compactness and environmental friendliness. The car expected to go on sale before the end of next year with an estimated base price of about £20,000 or $30,000.

The Chief Executive Dr Ulrich Bez says: “Now is the right time for Aston Martin to take this first bold action to board on this special mission – made feasible with the uphold of an organisation of Toyota’s standing and capability and the intelligent shoot and seamless city car container of the iQ.”

There’s no information on the powertrain options but we can suggest that the Cygnet will be use the Toyota iQ’s 1.33-liter four-cylinder petrol engine that makes 100HP at 6,000 rpm and peak torque of 125Nm at 4,400rpm. It is possible that Aston Martin’s engineers will tweak the iQ’s suspension and brake system.

The Cygnet does not suggest the end of required beasts like the DB9 and the DBS. It would only add to the reach and give Aston Martin access to new markets. “The offering of a ‘Cygnet’ with a DBS, DB9 or Vantage is a sole combination of opposites,” said Bez, “and a unique enrapture result allowing intelligent and exact mobility on a private and innovative point.”

The basing Toyota iQ cars will be built in Japan and then shipped to Aston Martin’s Gaydon factory in the UK where they will be transformed into Cygnets.
